Job Duties
Airports and airlines have vast administrative networks employing many different kinds of employees. Administrative assistants offer clerical support to the rest of administrative workers at the airline or airport and do a variety of general office work. Office work may include typing, filing, bookkeeping, answering phones, and operating office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, printers, and photocopiers.
Job Qualifications
Typically, only a high school diploma and basic computer skills like typing represent the requirements to become an airline administrative assistant. New employees are usually acquainted with office routines and guidelines in some sort of training program. While some employers may require previous clerical experience or perhaps even a college degree, most airlines just want to hire an organized and motivated individual with the ability to multitask and follow directions.
