Airport Service Person Maintenance Job Description & Salary Information
Job Duties
Airport maintenance crews are responsible for the general upkeep of the airport. The duties range from general janitorial duties, cutting grass, and clearing snow to unloading construction materials and rewiring sections of the airport. Essentially, this job involves the general maintenance required to keep the airport clean, safe, and running efficiently.
Job Qualifications
Most of maintenance positions are entry level and require little more than a high school diploma and for an applicant to be at least 18 years old. Some service jobs may require more experience where specific training is required, as is the case with electrical wiring or plumbing.
Salary & Compensation
Salary for maintenance jobs may depend on experience and the amount of training necessary for the particular job. Standard starting pay for a service person maintenance job ranges from $9.00 to $20.00 per hour. Pay rates may also vary depending on location and employer. Eligible airport maintenance workers receive airport discounts, healthcare coverage, and 401(k) plans.
