Army Electronics Job

If you love working with electronics, then this might be the job you’ve been waiting for. There are a number of different divisions in the United States Army, and each one has a variety of jobs and advancement opportunities available for new recruits. The electronics division, for example, deals primarily with maintaining and operating communications and electrical systems both domestically and overseas.

Job Duties
Working as a member of the Army’s electronics division can be an exciting way to begin your career in the military or in technology. A number of different job options are available for anyone who scores well in the general science, arithmetic reasoning, mathematics, and electronics information sections of the Army entrance exam, or the ASVAB. Some of the jobs available involve working as an electrician, transmitting data, repairing PATRIOT or AVENGER systems, or repairing and operating any number of other technical systems.

Essentially, the duties when enlisted as a member of the Army’s electronics division involve repairing and operating any form of electronic system. While it does help to have prior technical knowledge and some experience with computers, this is not strictly necessary if you pass those sections of the ASVAB. As long as you’re motivated and willing to make a commitment of at least a few years to a military lifestyle, the Army is looking to recruit you!

Job Qualifications and Compensation
These jobs may have a number of qualifications beyond the standard Army physical fitness tests and basic training. Once recruited, you’ll have to go through basic training and pick a specialty. After that, the Army will provide you training in a number of different areas depending on your preferred specialty. The amount of training required will also depend on your specialty. Some coursework may be finished during basic while other courses may take several months to complete.

The bright side to all of this is that the Army is always hiring on new help, can always use good, technically-minded people, and has amazing benefits. When you join the Army, you get their comprehensive healthcare, help planning for retirement, and a number of other exciting benefits. Of course, pay depends both on rank and the number of years served. Finally, the Army also offers you the opportunity to get real-world training and hands-on experience that many civilian businesses love to see. When you finish your duty in the Army, you’re looking at having tons of qualifications for wherever your job search takes you, even if you choose the military as a career.
