How can transitioning military veterans find the right civilian job?

Many job opportunities exist for veterans and candidates separating from the military. Job recruiting firms aid veterans and military personnel transitioning to the civilian job market. These companies work hard developing personalized and organized assistance programs. The companies provide veterans with information on the job market, classes to build resumes and interview skills, and connections to Fortune 500 companies. Join a career recruiting firm today and create plans to find an occupation utilizing military training.

Over the last 40 years, Lucas Group provided veterans with over 25,000 successful military transitions. Lucas Group began in 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded by a former military officer, Lucas Group strives to provide veterans with the information and skills required to gain a career. Lucas Group also provides veterans with a military hiring conference. Lucas Group currently operates more than 15 locations nation-wide.

Lucas Group uses 5 informative steps to help veterans gain desired careers. First, veterans receive career assessment to determine what job fields exist and match earned military experience. Veterans also receive assistance in resume-building, basic job searching information, interview preparation, and information on salary resources. These steps help veterans stand out during the hiring process and give a successful interview.

Orion International offers 75 hiring conferences annually and boasts the largest career firm in the nation. Orion International provides transition advice, resume building, and preparation classes. Former military career seekers receive all Orion International services for free. Orion International offers a veteran resource center, as well. Once veterans register with Orion International, a job recruiter calls. Recruiters answer any questions veterans may ask about the process. All Orion International recruiters stand proudly as former military personnel on a mission to help other veterans move to the civilian job market. Unlike other job placement companies, Orion International does not require candidates to sign an exclusive agreement with the company.

Founded in the late 1960s by Roger Cameron and Rene Brooks, Cameron-Brooks offers candidates an organized program to help plan for civilian transitioning. Cameron-Brooks urges military personnel to begin the search for a career before military separation occurs. The company suggests getting to know the job market before entering it. After registering with Cameron-Brooks, veterans enroll in the Development and Preparation Program. The DPP provides veterans with business knowledge and opportunities to enhance qualifications before the military-to-civilian transition occurs.

Cameron-Brooks provides veterans and military personnel with career information meetings. The company urges spouses and significant others to attend the meetings, as well. The informative meetings educate military personnel and military families about life after the military as well as available career opportunities. Applicants take part in marketability assessments, resume building classes, and 4-day career seminars. Cameron-Brooks urges applicants to attend a career conference 30-70 days before military separation to gain adequate preparation.

  1. Trevin Buckner:

I am concerned if I join the military when I get out I won’t be able to find a good civilian job that suits me. Would the military be able to help me get the position of choice within a company that I want to apply for?

  2. Jarod Boyle:

I am thinking about joining the military. The only thing that is holding me back is I am afraid of getting deployed and them coming home with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. How would I be able to find a civilian job while living with PTSD if this were to happen?
