If you need a job, the United States Army always needs a few good soldiers, and they hire new recruits every day. With open enlistment and competitive pay, the Army hires most any person physically and mentally fit enough to serve as an entry-level armed forces associate. On June 3rd, 1784, Congress created the United States Army after the demise of the British-run Continental Army. The U.S. Army is the largest branch of the United States military due to the sheer number of workers joining and serving. In 2009, the U.S. Army employee base, including Regular Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve, numbered over 1.1 million strong.
Of course, the main mission of those serving in the Army is to provide necessary forces and capabilities in support of the National Security and Defense Strategies. One of the many great things about the Army is the plethora of options available for those looking to join within these job categories: Administrative Support, Arts & Media, Combat, Computers & Technology, Construction & Engineering, Intelligence & Combat Support, Legal & Law Enforcement, Mechanics, Medical & Emergency, and Transportation & Aviation.
On top of a variety of career paths, the Army offers unbelievable compensation and benefits packages. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the average Active Duty service member receives a compensation package worth $99,000. Look into the U.S. Army further, and you’ll find even more reasons why it is becoming a greater opportunity for civilians with each passing day. Army applicants must meet requirements for age, citizenship, health, criminal records, and number of dependents. The U.S. Army may reject applicants over 35, not legally able to work in the U.S., unable to meet health standards, with felony convictions, or having more than two dependents. Many restricted individuals may receive waivers for the previously mentioned conditions if considered a valuable military asset.
If you want the pride of having served your country during a time of need, the Army may have the perfect career for you. The Army is one of the most important branches of the U.S. military. Eminence training and quality of life goes hand-in-hand with mission readiness and triumph on the battlefield. Do you think you are up for the challenge? If so, applying to join the Army is easy. You can always apply online.
There are many career fields in the Army. Some of the many employment opportunities include infantry, computer and technology, combat, mechanics, medical, engineering, and aviation. When joining the Army with no formal training, you start off at the rank of Private. As a Private, you are a trainee who is in basic combat training, and your main job is to follow orders exactly. After a year of enlistment, you will be promoted to Private First Class. You still carry out orders to the best of your ability. Privates may receive promotions to higher ranks, such as Sergeant, Command Sergeant, or Sergeant Major. Higher ranks must carry out policies and ensure standards on performance, training, and appearance of the soldiers. Higher ranks oversee all enlisted troops assigned to them. The Army also has several Special Forces positions available in the Rangers, Delta Force, and Green Berets.
One of the major perks of joining the Army is the great benefits package every soldier receives. As a soldier, you will receive housing on base or money for off-base housing and food allowances. Every soldier and their immediate families also receive a healthcare plan covering medical, dental, and vision at little or no cost. Military employees also receive life insurance, 30 days of vacation annually, money for college or to pay off existing school loans, and free education through Army training. The Army offers a retirement plan in which the Army will match 10% of saved retirement funds.
The Army takes care of you and your family no matter what the case. As a soldier, you develop a sense of pride, honor, and humility. With competitive salary and benefits packages, the Army ensures troop confidence and morale. If you are ready to serve your country guarantee freedom for future generations, don’t waste any more time. Apply online and become Army strong today.

December 21st, 2010 at 6:20 amFor international applicants, try living and getting citizenship in the US first. The test is a little difficult, so study. You must then be able to do pushups, situps, and run a mile in 8.5 minutes. Contact a recruiter.
And you must also take a test called the ASVAB (az-vab). The ARMED SERVICES VOCATIONAL APTITUDE BATTERY. This is an easy test if you know algebra and good english. This test finds what you are good at. The minimum to join the ARMY is a 30 afqt. This is very easy to do if you have a mid-level education.

May 10th, 2011 at 2:40 amI wanted to join the ARMY for a very long time and was always told the jobs I wanted were not available. I wanted to be apart of something that was held to a professional level and be around respectful people while getting the best training someone could ever ask for. A few years later I joined the ARMY. Now, after 5 years active duty and a 15month deployment, I promise to inform all who even think of joining. DO NOT JOIN! Reasons being–You will not get respect–You will be treated like a child–You will do janitorial duties more than your actual job–If you are not liked then you can be harassed legally–No matter what the army says, They are not family friendly and do not care about their own–You will be lied to–They only have to let you sleep for 4hours each day and does not have to be 4 hours straight, they can break it up to what ever they want–Leaders can break rules and make you do things that are logically wrong, but you still have to do them and report it after the fact, fixing nothing–The army is purely Who You Know-By law the army does not have to pay you, therefore this is not job stability–Army people of all ranks are the most Unprofessional people in the USA!–They do not have to let you take leave to go home, even though the recruiter will tell you about the 30days paid vacation–Army has the highest divorce rate of the entire USA–Army has the highest STD rate of the entire USA–Rape is higher than every 1 in 4 and you will not see justice like would in the civilian word for this crime–You do not have to be an American to join, people join to get citizenship and do not speak english, but they will be given a higher rank than American enlistees–You will be called after work to come back in to work in uniform, because you leader forgot to do something–You will be punished for other soldiers mistakes–If a soldier gets in trouble on friday, you as well as the entire unit will be called into work right then and forced to work over the weekend, because you failed babysit that soldier. I guarantee all of these will happen, most army people are so retarded that they see nothing wrong with any of this. And this is not even close to half of what you can look forward to. GoCivilian!
