Founded in 1989 by Bruce Reed, Bruster’s Ice Cream is a nationwide chain of ice cream shops. Reed got his start in the 1950s as a child working at his parent’s restaurant, Jerry’s Curb Service. Jerry’s was located in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, where Reed later opened the first Bruster’s Ice Cream location. There are now Bruster’s retail locations in more than 20 states. Although they have an enormous number of store, the company’s presence is mainly concentrated in states east of the Mississippi River.
Bruster’s has more than 170 ice cream flavors made from natural ingredients. Every day, each store serves 24 flavors of ice cream as well as frozen yogurt, sorbet, sherbet, and Italian ices. The only required daily flavors are chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. If a customer registers at the Bruster’s website, the company will send an email when a customer’s favorite flavors become available. Bruster’s is always famous for its ice cream cakes.
