Every BK is different, some offer benefits, some offer paid vacations, some don’t offer anything and find ways around their own programs so they don’t have to spend the money. It all depends on the owners, the District Managers, etc. At our store, the DM likes to deny vacation time, doesn’t allow the shift managers to have crew member friends, and crew members have no perks at all. No one in our store has gotten a raise in 2 years, even though we’ve done everything we’ve been asked. We get it dangled in front of us, long enough to make quotas, but then our DM always finds a way to take it away from us. As great a place as it could be, it is a job to pay the bills, THAT’S IT.

Ive been with BK for 16 years. Ive seen vacation time given then taken away, no raises or reviews for our entire market in 2 years. BK says they offer bonuses but then they transfer their managers around so often that theyre then not eligible for the bonuses. If they do approve a vacation theres no point making plans because they can and often do take it back. If you do actually get to take vacation you have to wait and see if theyre going to pay you for it and then if they dont, you have to wait until they get around to calling payroll to get it fixed. I was told theres a pension plan but nobody knows anything about it. I wouldnt refer anyone to work for BK in my market. Im looking for a new job.

I would like to know if Burger King offers their employees any paid vacation time. I take vacation quite frequently and I am curious to know how long you have to be employed at Burger King to get paid vacation days.

I have been a full time BK employee for 13 years. We have now been told that paid vacation is a benefit they are taking away. I had earned 3 weeks, only used one. We can take the time off, but you could lose your job.

far as I know, you don’t get any real vacation time. my son has been a shift coordinator for 4 years, with a year in before that as a team member, so five total years and has NEVER received even a single paid vacation day. he can get time off if he wants/needs it, but no paid time off.

Burger King restaurants are owned by Franchisees. Because of this, there aren’t any company benefits offered if you work in a franchisee’s store. Assistant Managers, Restaurant Managers and District Managers do receive vacation for our franchise. Every January they receive 2 weeks paid vacation and after 5 years, 3 weeks.

Part-time employees (crew members) do not receive conventional benefits. They receive their half price meals, while on their shift, we offer flex schedules and free parking. There is also a supplimental health program they can elect, if they wish to have health insurance–but it’s more like Aflac than any traditional plan.

What your benefits are, is determined by the owner of your franchise. If you wish to gain benefits that managers receive, you need to become a manager. You do that with hard work and dedication to the success of your store, your team and your company goals. You’re not entitled to benefits, especially in this economy.
