Burger King Interview Questions

Hiring process information for an interview at Burger King

Every potential Burger King employee must submit the appropriate information to receive employment consideration. After a few days, a Burger King employee, typically a manager, contacts an applicant to schedule a job interview. Some Burger King locations save applicant information on file for extended periods of time and may contact applicants at a later date than expected.

Due to the high volume of job applicants, some Burger King locations may conduct group interviews. Prospective associates should prepare for both the one-on-one interview and group interview formats. Interviewers generally ask applicants about job qualifications, including work history, education, and skill sets. Managers also typically inquire about availability. Interviewers may pose work-related scenarios to gauge applicant responses. Answer all questions honestly and concisely without over-elaborating. When in doubt, dress formally; however, most Burger King locations still look favorably on applicants wearing business casual attire.

Interview Tips from a Burger King Hiring Manager Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: What qualities do you look for in an applicant?
Burger King Hiring Manager: Personality, definitely somebody who has their head held high and not looking down at the floor all the time.

Interviewer: What kind of answers do you look for in an interview?
Burger King Hiring Manager: I remember one time, sitting there listening in. They were talking about transportation, and the kid was like, “Yeah, I got my mom,” and I thought that was odd. Then, I’m listening to the general manager go, “Okay, if your mom can’t get you here, how are you going to get here?” He said, “I’ll walk,” and we asked, “How far do you live?” The kid said it was about five to seven miles, something like that. And I was like, “You’re going to walk five to seven miles, work a full shift, and walk back home?” And he got the job and he did do it a couple of times. I saw him. I thought that was a good answer.

Interviewer: How can an interviewee tell if the interview went well?
Burger King Hiring Manager: I think most times you get a good feeling from the person sitting across from you. If they’re not looking around or acting like they’re bored with you… as long as you hold the attention of the interviewer, I think it’s usually good.

Interviewer: What should an applicant do to prepare for an interview?
Burger King Hiring Manager: Definitely dress nice. You don’t want to go in there with pants sagging and stuff like that. Just talk like a human being. Don’t do any negative comments or anything like that.

Interviewer: What should an applicant do after leaving the interview?
Burger King Hiring Manager: I would think to follow up if you don’t hear back. Give it like a week or so, then follow up, see if maybe they just missed you.
