Created in 1910 in Oklahoma and headquartered in Houston, Texas, CITGO is a chain of gas stations scattered throughout the United States. Since the beginning, CITGO has expanded to include more than 6,000 gas stations and presently has thousands of truck drivers, managers, and gas station attendants in its employ. The employer earns annual revenues of around $30 billion from its gas stations and convenience stores.
Most CITGO gas stations are franchised out to private owners. This means stations are primarily owned and operated by any number of different local business operators. However, some gas stations are actually company-run, and the brand name itself is a subsidiary owned by the nationalized petroleum company of Venezuela, the PDVSA. All crude oil required by CITGO gas stations is provided from the PDVSA’s refineries, which are privately owned by the Venezuelan government.
Those interested in working in the oil and gas industry could certainly get a good start in a local CITGO. If you pride yourself on high-quality customer service and need a part-time job or full-time career, CITGO could be the answer you’ve been looking for. Generally, CITGO requests that applicants be over the age of 18 to apply.
Given how expansive CITGO’s oil empire is, it’s no wonder their gas stations around the country are hiring all the time. There are entry-level jobs as gas station attendants which only require an applicant to handle the cash register, clean the store, dispense fuel, and mind the convenience store. Managers must usually have prior experience to begin their careers at CITGO. This experience may be earned in training at entry-level jobs at CITGO stations or in managerial roles elsewhere. Although not strictly necessary, a high school or college diploma may be helpful during the interview process.
Many CITGO employees may also become eligible for benefits in addition to pay. Beyond training opportunities, advancement potential, competitive paychecks, and flexible scheduling, these workers will also be granted access to a number of exciting perks while working for CITGO. These packages tend to include healthcare coverage options, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time away from work, pension plans, and more.
Don’t delay your job search any longer. With thousands of companies right here, there’s never been a better time to start filling out online job applications. CITGO is adding new, hardworking hires just like you to their gas station team every day. Complete the CITGO job application and get on the road to employment opportunities.
