In department stores, customer service representatives assist and interact with customers to create a positive shopping experience. Key customer service associate job duties include answering questions, offering product knowledge, locating and retrieving products, and maintaining a clean shopping environment. Customer service representatives also answer phones, complete customer transactions, and process returns. Additionally, customer service associates work to reduce shrink by following all company loss prevention policies. Most department stores offer paid training programs for newly hired customer service representatives to learn job duties and company polices.
