I’ve been with Dominos in Raleigh, NC for about 4 months now and I love it. My base pay is $7.25 an hr. and 5.25 hr. when I clock out on runs. My store is a high volume store so I average about $300 to $400 easily. With my check every two weeks my take home pay is about $450.
I am a new hire. The base pay is $7.25. Not very competitive. I’m also a delivery driver. From what I understood, delivery drivers were paid $12.00 an hour. There is definitely a big difference.
Drivers are not paid $12hr. A delivery driver for Dominos on average only makes a base hourly pay of $5.15hr plus tip. Your wage is constantly changing. Some night you wont even make the minimum $7.25hr and you leave with out compensation taking a loss. The saying “Pizza Drivers can make $12 to $20 dollars an hour” are highly misconceived. Example: You take three runs in an hour and luckily your tips are $5 per house. Then you add your base pay of $5.15hr and POOOF you have $20 in one hour, then the rush is over and you go home.
Personally you can only make so much as a driver (8 years off and on for me) and with the amount of competition you face with your fellow drivers you have to be the late driver or closer to make any survivability money. Unfortunately in most Dominos there are only two to three late people. The rest go home with little money. $20 a night wouldn’t cut it for me
Recently Started At a Dominos Being there for about 3 months now My paycheck does not go or reach 300$ and i get paid 8.25 an hour only get about 18 hours per week forced to work this Christmas Eve Day New Years and Thanksgiving day Whithout any half time pay just regular pay So i would recomend that job for a partime or seasonal Deal
There are no benefits at Dominos. We dont even get free pizzas. No kidding! Only full time emlpoyees have benefits. Unfortunately, the only full time employees are the manager and asst. mgrs. Everyone else, including drivers, are considered part-time even if working more than 40 hours a week consistently. Oh and we get paid 7.25 an hour in NYC.
i ve been working at dominos pizza for about 5 to 7 months now they r really friendly. i get paid 8 dollars an hour its not bad i work school lunch. so every day there is school i got to work at 7:15 and me and 5 other people make over 400 pizza usually … and i cut every single pizza so u would think we would get payed more right … wrong we work 4 times as hard and make 3 times more pizza in a shorter time period than usual to make 200 pizzas in 4-6 hours. i believe we should be paid more like 9 or 10 its not much more be its reasonable right??
Here in Long Beach, CA I’ve worked at a Dominos for 3 years now. I started at $8.00/hr as a driver and after 2 years and some threats of seeking legal arbitration I was bumped up to $8.50/hr.
There are no medical/dental benefits at my location and there are supposedly some minor perks one can access after 1000 hours (these provided by Corporate), like the 401K, Bank of America free accounts…. Dickies discounts, oh and my T-mobile discount.
I like my franchisee, but I have to say, I can’t speak for all.
I have personally had to go through more than a dozen vehicles in my 3 years. Ranging from ones I owned, borrowed and rented. This job has the potential to pay decent, but the cost and expense makes you come out living paycheck and tip to paycheck and tip.
Customers often stiff our drivers and many days the average tip is $2 with an 8 hour shift yielding 8-18 deliveries.
Some think $2 is ok. It’s an insult. The bare minimum acceptable tip, irregardless of cost of the order is at least a gallon of gas! Stiffing, or not tipping, is just the customer being a user.
We as drivers have to pay commercial insurance, outrageous gas prices, car repairs and have to have a cell phone and pay for the minutes we use to call the customer to the locked gate out of our pocket… All the while having to risk getting robbed, car-jacked or ticketed for double parking because these stupid stiffing customers don’t give a crap that there is NO parking in the area, or that you had to bring their food up 2-3 (or more flights of stairs).
Stupid lazy customers then say thank you as they demand their $0.03 change (leaving not even spare change for a tip).
Don’t tell me thank you if you don’t mean it…Tip. My landlord and used car financier don’t accept “thank you” as appropriate forms of payment.
Dominos, like many fast food companies, dictates employee pay/benefits along franchise guidelines for regular hourly & driver positions. The franchise that I work for offers benefits (& salaries) only to fulltime employees, which are GMs & assistant managers. I’ve been working for Dominos as an asst manager for 6 months. I’ve not been salaried & receive an hourly wage of $8.50 (Started at $7.25, regular $.10-$.25 raises.) I average 39-46 hrs/week & receive OT, but have not been extended any benefits as my OT is not constant or scheduled purposely.
The work environment is fun–we have a great team of friendly, hard-working insiders & drivers that understand the faster we hustle & better pizzas we make, the more business we receive, & the higher the chance for pay increase. Honestly, though, the drivers benefit more financially than pizza makers or even mid management. On a weekend a driver working a 6-8hr shift can make $100-$200 in tips, yet no matter how busy it gets inside, our hourly is the same. Most weeks our drivers (provided they work at least 3-4 days, around 6-hr shifts) make considerably more than I, even though their base pay is only $5.50+$1/run for gas.
We don’t pay for uniforms although we’re required to provide our own khaki pants & black belt. We receive a 40% discount on any carry-out items, but that’s based on our own franchise policy.
Pizza making can be fun & is certainly a rewarding experience. Gaining regular satisfied customers can be a matter of personal pride. If you’re not a people person, dislike jobs where you’re on your feet or have to work extended periods of high-volume business, are not a team player, have a short temper/fuse with customer attitudes at times, this is NOT a job for you. If you’re looking to support a family or save money for a big expense, I’d recommend a driver position over working inside as there is such a drastic pay & responsibility difference.
I work at dominos pizza Part Time delivering and I can tell you from personal experience, there is potential to make 20 to 25 an hour easliy on busy nights and between 10 and 12 on slower nights. There are plenty of days that I make 100 dollars plus in tips (a few 200 dollar nights) but that is during the weekends. Normal Monday thru Thursday I make about 50 dollars in tips over 6 hours. It is a GREAT part time job. I cannot speak on the full time positions, because I have a career outside of the pizza buisness and dont work it. GREAT JOB if you like to hustle and make descent extra money!!
I am thinking about applying online to work for Dominios Pizza. I would like to know if they offer their employees any discounts on perscription drugs? That would help me out a lot if they did!
June 30th, 2011 at 3:32 pmMy son just got his first job as a Domino’s part-time employee. He had to sit in the “office” (a closet) that reeked of cigarettes to watch a training video for 4 hours, then he had to buy his uniform (a cheap looking shirt, hat and name tag) for $20. Charging a part-time, minimum wage employee for a uniform is shameful. He’s there because he needs the money, not to buy their uniform. He gets minimum wage and zero benefits (no discounted pizza). So far, it’s been a very disappointing experience and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
January 29th, 2012 at 6:26 pmI have been with domino’s for a year and a half and still have seen no kind of 401k med insurance and i have had to but 3 cars with no help from them and my store has a 2.50 del charge we get a 1.35 out of that why wouldn’t we get it all when we drive our own car and put our own gas in it. We don’t have to pay for our uniform but i understand why unhappy mom was unhappy about it
