Job Interview Question & Answer: Would You Say That You Can Easily Deal With High Pressure Situations?

How to Answer the Question:

Don’t say you cannot work well in a high pressure situation. Describe a job you held in the past you would consider high pressure. Don’t dwell on why you personally thought the situation was stressful. Explain how you worked through the pressure and excelled in the position. Explain your ability to function under pressure only.

The easiest way to deal with this question is to answer yes and move on with the hiring process. Spending too much time debating the quantities of high stress or lauding your own abilities under stress will make an interviewer question your responses. If asked to provide an example, give one simple stressful situation most anyone would find stressful, such as an angry customer, and discuss how you solved the problem quickly and to the benefit of everyone involved.

I’m rather unsure how I would answer this. I suffer from acute anxiety. Typically when I do work I try to stay focused on what I’m suppose to be doing. However, I’m not sure how I would deal with a person screaming in my face. Er, rather I know how I would deal with it in that moment, but that’s not to say I won’t go to the bathroom and have a small freakout moment. I don’t want something like this to hinder my ability to get a job. So I am unsure if I should inform employers about this problem. It’s something that could happen, but might not. The worst thing I could probably do is yell at a customer or start crying in front of them. But, that’s the worst. Should I even bring this problem up, or just let it lay.

Yes, Because what i always do when i encounter High-Pressured Person is i asked all necessary question if i could be fit for him/her for helping /assistance: listening and asking if does’nt understand.. and if she/he isn’t calming, that would be the time that i would say a word but always in Good Manners & Right Conduct. and if u might asked what will it be? i would say; Sir/Ma’am/Madam, “even if the Hospital or Clinic are far from here, if something might happen to you like Heart Attack,i won’t think twice bacause i would be glad to use my bare hands to carry and use my own fit to run as fast as i can, even if you are twice heavier than me, i would be happy and gratefull to take you there because i know that what i did will be a Lifetime Memories”.

    Sal:
Always speak to a customer in a calm voice and explain to the customer that you are here to help them and try to find the problem and solve it in the best interest of the customer and the company. If customer becomes irate and out of control then call for your supervisor.
