Job Interview Question & Answer: Can You Lift 50 / 75 / 100 lbs. and Carry It 50 / 75 / 100 Yards?

How to Answer the Question:

This question can only be asked if it applies to duties related to the job. Answer honestly. Always tell your potential employer you can perform the required work if you actually can. If the question uses esoteric weights or lengths you are unsure of, ask the interviewer to clarify. During the hiring process, keep your answer short and professional.

Do not say you can lift the weight and carry it the distance if you can’t. Don’t lie during a job interview. Many employers use this style of question to let prospective employees know just how difficult a job may be on the body. If you know this will not be a problem for you, tell the employer yes. Tell them no if you doubt your ability to perform the task several times each day.

Honestly, I probably can, but I want try it. I choose to work smart and not hard. I’ll move that weigh to the distance that is asked, but I’ll move it an easier way.

No, the maximum is 30 lbs. Because I took weight lifting class. I only tried up to 30 lbs. I believe I can carry for 100 yards. But I could not do it for everyday. Maybe under 30 lbs that i can do it.

However, for 50 lbs if I have to do I will do it but not everyday.
