Job Interview Question & Answer: Describe A Time When You Had To Deal With Conflicting Demands

How to Answer the Question:

Stay professional and only discuss how you succeeded in a job with conflicting demands. Highlight your use of office communication and problem-solving skills to resolve the conflict. Discuss the simple measures you took to make sure everyone was on the same page. Keep your answer short and professional.

Do not discuss poor management styles or other loaded responses injurious to your job search during the hiring process. Don’t badmouth coworkers or bosses. Don’t talk about trouble with customers. Answers to questions like this could tell an interviewer far more than you want to during a job interview.

Well the only example which I can give is; let say for instance there’s a policy matter being disputed between management and employee. It is a law that all companies must have company policy guidelines. It is also understood that as a manager within the company, he or she can not thwart against that policy. But it is determined that he or she maybe able to draft some type of policy letter, in-lieu of policy, which must be signed in order to weigh against the original policy.

I referred one of my customer to the financial representative. When she told me she lost money. Even I need more referred but I can not betray the trust of me from my good customer. I rather happy to be a teller than betray my customer.

Sometimes I have to deal with angry customers while I have many orders to be processed by UPS.
I have to calm down the customer and give them some options that can help them better in what they want.
