How to Answer the Question:
At this point in the hiring process, emphasize the training you received in college and its benefit to the achievement of your long-term career goals. Talk about learning social skills necessary to operate in the corporate world. Discuss the events or clubs you attended which provided insight in your growth as a professional. Discuss the family ties that kept you near home, if any exist, as interviewers enjoy hearing about your personal dedication.
Don’t say you picked the best party school or the closest institution. During a job interview, poor decision-making skills should never be something you relate to the interviewer. If you don’t know why you chose a particular school, research any ties the institution may have to your chosen profession or the company you are interviewing with, and discuss those bonds.
