Job Interview Question & Answer: Do You Know Anyone Who Works for Us? |
|
|
|
How to Answer the Question:
This is where you answer whether or not you know anyone in the company. Only answer yes if it is someone you want the company speaking with. However, you may have to answer yes if it is a family member. Many companies will only hire family members in separate areas; this policy is often to prevent favorable treatment of relatives.
Do not discuss people you know who you do not like or cannot count on for a glowing personal reference. The interviewer does not want to bring in people predisposed to argue with his current employees, and you don’t want to give them a name of someone you can’t trust to help you out during the hiring process. Be extremely selective when answering this question in a job interview, but don’t lie if the interviewer asks you about a specific employee at the company.

You first need to ask yourself if you want to work for a company where there are people you don’t get along with. That kind of tension can be very disruptive.

Personally I do not know any one who works for you. But I had a mock interview with Rita Ghassen on August 4th, 2011 at YWCA the city of New York, NY.
She is a very good person. She did not look down at me because I worked so long and have never be promoted. She asked something like, ” Do I able to be a customer service if I do not want to responsible a lot of cash?”
That provoked my thinking to apply the customer service job. And I was introduced to your bank’s name by my ex-husband. The impression is always in my heart “Mellon Bank”.
