Job Interview Question & Answer: Do You Think You Are Overqualified for This Job?

How to Answer the Question:

Highlight the fact that you are perfectly qualified to accomplish the job duties set forth in the job listing. Discuss your ability to do any kind of work to the standard required. Mention your experience and schooling as mere tools letting you reach your full potential as an employee and your belief that life is a constant learning process.

Never admit to being overqualified during the hiring process. Don’t speak of work as being below you, even to say the work is not below you. The moment you say something is not below you, the interview will assume you believe the opposite. Never let the interviewer think you think this job is beneath your abilities.

In my opinion if this question was asked of me I would never tell them I am over qualified. In fact I would tell them all of the reasons as why I very qualified for the position and why I would be a good candidate. Every time I say things like that the employer really likes it.
