Job Interview Question & Answer: Have You Ever Been Convicted of A Crime? |

How to Answer the Question:
An employer can only ask about crimes related to the specific position you are applying for. Be honest, but remember you do not have to go into great detail. The situation surrounding your conviction is often a matter of public record. Discuss further details at your own risk, and remember this: most every prisoner professes innocence, and employers are more likely to trust the legal system over a convicted criminal.
If you are applying for a job you know you should avoid, quit while you are ahead. Many criminals attempt to falsify documents for gain or simply to achieve a job making more than minimum wage, and hundreds of these people lose good jobs or end up back in prison because of this. Many companies accept resumes from individuals whose convictions took place a set amount of time previous to applying for work. Contact human resources to discover the company policy on hiring convicted criminals.

Never say never, and do not judge others. Some people really do make honest mistakes, and for anyone to say they have never made an honest mistake..well, they are full of it. EVERYONE makes mistakes at one point in time.

September 2nd, 2011 at 10:00 amIf you are lucky to live a long life, you can never predict life’s travel. Paul in the bible went to jail three times. Its not the conviction it self but the reason behind it thats become the sin.
