How to Answer the Question:
This is your opportunity to describe any events or even charitable organizations you have recently worked with or currently belong to that help you work toward your personal and professional goals. Keep your focus on recent events you experienced which benefitted you professionally and personally. During the hiring process, keep your responses short and professional at all times, and only discuss your recent history.
This is not a good time to discuss past events or charitable organizations you barely remember. If you were involved in charity work in high school, but you are near 30 years old, your employer will want to know why you don’t work with any charity organizations now. If you participated in community organizations to earn college scholarships, the interviewer will wonder why you aren’t still active in these groups.

June 20th, 2011 at 9:39 amI like when they ask me this question because I have so many that I tell them its almost like they are in shock and I can tell they are proud of me before I even get the job. If someone didn’t belong to any should they say no with an explanation?
