Job Interview Question & Answer: What Are the Positive Character Traits You Don’t Have?

How to Answer the Question:

Answer honestly, but don’t overdo it. Focus on character traits you can receive education for, but don’t currently have. Some possibilities include bilingualism if you don’t speak a second language or learning a new computer programming language. Keep your answer short and remain with the world of business. Stay professional and have at least three prepared traits for each job interview.

Avoid character traits like honesty, hardworking, reliable, and dedicated as these are traits you want an interviewer to believe you possess during a job interview. Avoid easily quantified statements and keep your focus on traits you could acquire in your career training. Don’t reveal any information you want to keep from the interviewer.

When i get asked this question i never really know what to say because I don’t want it to sound like i don’t have any positive traits that I lack. I normally would say being a perfectionist, is that a good answer do you think?
