Job Interview Question & Answer: What Has Disappointed You About a Job?

How to Answer the Question:

This is a trick question. Talk about times when you feel like the company could have made more money, but didn’t. Another possibility is to discuss how you could have accomplished the best work possible with a little more time, but had to settle for completing merely good work by the deadline. Mention company failures or work desires left unfulfilled only.

This is not the part of the job interview where you talk about previous employers or co-workers in a disparaging way. Never do that during the hiring process. Don’t discuss ideas you proposed the company neglected to implement. Don’t mention failures or mistakes costing the company profit or injuring the company image. Don’t reveal unnecessary information to interviewers.

When I get asked this question I have no idea what to say. I don’t want to say anything to make my employer mad or have them think differently. What are some things I could say when asked this?

I disappointed I could not transfer to work at the main office as I used to in Thailand. I do not like my teller job at the beginning. However, I did appreciate later because it is the only job I made a lot of money.
