How to Answer the Question:
Employers want to hear about your work ethic and your desire to work for their company. Do not answer the question with “nothing” or appear indecisive. These sorts of responses can stop the hiring process before it has even had a chance to really begin. In your response, focus on specific activities, and highlight what is keeping you busy and organized.
This is your chance to shine and show off your personal strengths. Emphasize self-improvement: staying healthy, furthering your education, etc. Whether you’re a rock climber and managed to scale a new mountain since your last job or have been studying to get into graduate school, self-improvement is the way to go. During a job interview, employers will be trying to find out about your personality. Do you work hard? Are you motivated and ambitious? These are the kinds of workers they love to hire, so try and give an answer that highlights these qualities.
