History
Founder Vernon Rudolph opened the first Krispy Kreme in 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and originally sold doughnuts to grocery stores. Word of the delicious doughnuts soon spread and lead to the sale of Krispy Kreme doughnuts right on the street. By the mid-1940s, several locations began operations and by the late-1950s the café chain stood as one of the most popular restaurants in the industry. Krispy Kreme continued to grow throughout the 1960s and 1970s and eventually sold to Beatrice Foods Company in 1976. A small group of franchise owners regained control of Krispy Kreme in 1982 after purchasing the coffee shop chain from Beatrice Foods. In April 2000, Krispy Kreme began trading as a public company and started expanding internationally in 2003.
Menu
Primarily operating from standalone and shopping mall locations, the Krispy Kreme menu offers customers a delicious assortment of doughnuts and pastries.
