The Nautica application is your ticket to job opportunities in the retail industry.
The Nautica clothing company is a subsidiary of the V.F. Corporation. Their parent company is a global apparel company based in the U.S. with stores and manufacturing plants across the globe. While V.F. is highly diversified and sells everything from jeans to sportswear, Nautica is slightly more specialized. Their area of the market focuses specifically on high-end retail where they offer clothing for all ages as well as watches, colognes, and perfumes.
However, Nautica wasn’t always a part of V.F. The company was founded in 1983 with a tiny niche in the men’s outerwear industry. Their name comes from the Latin word for ship to embody the company’s entrepreneurial spirit. Similarly, the trademarked wheel is meant to honor mankind’s adventuring nature from when we first took to the seas.
Nautica’s current headquarters are in New York City to stay as close to cutting-edge clothing trends as possible. It is a publically operated company with more than 10,000 employees, which is roughly a quarter of those employed by the V.F. Corporation. While Nautica does not have independent statistics, V.F. earned roughly $8 billion in 2009.
V.F. may have enormous profits that are hard to keep in mind, but Nautica alone operates 170 stores and their brand is available in more than 60 countries. It boggles the mind to imagine what kind of effort it takes to run such a vast global empire. Needless to say, Nautica is always hiring and you can apply online at any time.
Nautica has a fairly typical corporate structure when it comes to the retail industry. Common job titles begin in entry level jobs with merchandise coordinators and then rise into store managers, district managers, and regional managers. Sales associates only need to be 18 or older to work for Nautica and positions are currently available nationwide. Anyone with customer service experience will of course be considered for a career in management. Full-time employees will even be eligible for a benefits package on top of great pay. Qualified workers receive employment perks like healthcare coverage, merchandise discounts, and much more.
Retail work is always out there if you go exploring for it. Nautica wants to take that enterprising spirit and turn it into employment! With jobs just around the bend, what’s stopping you from putting in the Nautica job application right now? Apply online to find a career at a Nautica store in your area.
