I absolutely love pizza. It would be so cool to work at Papa John’s. I would just have to be careful that I don’t eat everything in sight! I think I am going to fill out an application for Papa John’s right now!
I currently work at Papa johns. I started when i was 16 and now I’m almost 18. There are some pro’s and con’s of course! The pro’s are: work goes by fast if it’s busy and you get to joke around almost all the time. The con’s are: You must be willing to get RID of your FRIDAY! I’m an in-store employee and honestly if you can’t stand people people, than this job isn’t right for you. Once you settle in, the store feels like a 2nd family to you…. the only exception is that the papa johns family is split into 2 no matter what, we have the in-store family and the driver family….why 2 different families? Well it’s just basically the work ethic. The in-store do all the work while the drivers do nothing but sit on their butts and drive and although they make like 4 something an hour (while driving), they make amazing tips! Some bring back over a $10 in tips and then complain on why they don’t get breaks like the in-store people do! Now, if you’re not a manager, and work in-store, YOU MAKE MINIMUM no matter what! and beginning managers make like $8 an hour. We get paid weekly. Also the cashiers make minimum but they get to keep any tips they receive so in a way, the only way to make above par is to be either a manager or cashier (which we call them phone girls)! The hours aren’t the best. I’ve been there for almost 2 years now and I rarely put in 20 hours…shoot I’m lucky if i get 14 hours! The schedule always changes every week but that can be a good thing since you can get time off (a week or 2′s notice), also my friend that also works with me, took off the whole summer and our GM (general manager) didn’t care. I’m one of the most diverse minors there and can do almost everything. There’s only 2 day in the whole year that papa johns is closed for and that’s Thanksgiving and Christmas (respectfully). You must be willing to work fridays since it is the buissyist day of the week and also you will be required to work Halloween no matter the excuse because it is the most buissyist day of the year! Any other questions? E-mail me.
