Pizza Hut Interview Questions

Hiring process information for an interview at Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut locations highly encourage job-seekers to thoroughly complete the necessary paperwork for hiring consideration. Although not required, many Pizza Hut restaurants look favorably on applicants who submit resumes with past employment experience. Pizza Hut managers look for qualified applicants and assess who to bring in for an interview. Pizza Hut usually contacts workers within a week or two of submitting a request for employment.

Candidates should wear business casual clothing to the Pizza Hut job interview. Prospective associates should dress to impress and remain professional throughout the interview process. Depending on the position applied for, Pizza Hut may ask workers for employment history, driving record, and job skill sets. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently may benefit candidates during the Pizza Hut hiring process.

Pizza Hut Delivery Driver Interview Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Pizza Hut Employee: My job title was delivery driver, and when there isn’t deliveries to be taken, I work in the kitchen. I make food, catch up on dirty dishes, and I will also prep dough for the next day. Whenever you close… I’m a closing driver most of the time, so I have to sweep the floor, clean everything up, make sure all the dough for the next day is in the cooler, ready to be used in the morning. I count the drawer, making sure I have enough, take out the trash, and that’s pretty much it as far as my duties go.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Pizza Hut Employee: The work environment is very friendly. It’s continuous; there’s always something to do.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Pizza Hut Employee: Specifically, delivering is nice because you get to take a break from running around the pizza shop. You get to get in your car and relax. You can listen to music. Once you get to the houses, you interact with people, which I like doing, as well. I like answering the phones, interacting with people. It’s just something that helps the time go by a lot faster. You don’t feel like you’re working so much when you’re talking to people. That’s about my favorites.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Pizza Hut Employee: Typical day would be clocking in. Being a delivery driver, my main focuses are to get the dough done and staying up on the dishes. First thing I do is go in there and see how much dough is prepped for the next day and how much is left to do. I see how the dishes are, and I got to get those dirty pans washed and sanitized before I can use the dough out of the freezer. I got to get the pans washed so we can reuse them. Then, I just pay attention to what deliveries need to go out and I take the deliveries out, come back. Same thing as I said before, dishes and dough. Around closing time, you start doing the final cleanup; take out trash, haul the boxes out to the dumpster, sweep and mop, and call it a day.

Interviewer: How would describe the application and interview process?
Pizza Hut Employee: I would describe it as not too intimidating. Like I said, they’re very friendly people and talk to you like a person. You feel like they’re more your friends, so it’s not too intimidating. They just asked simple questions. If you’re a delivery driver, they ask you questions relating to that job. If you have DUIs or anything bad on your driving record, that will definitely hurt you in the process, so they do ask those questions. They ask if you’ve had any other experience working at a pizza place, which is always a plus if you do. It saves them time having to train you on the basics. Pizza Hut has its own system where you have to go through a certain amount of tests on a computer, which not only tests you but trains you at the same time. After it trains you, it goes back through what it trained you and tests you. That’s also a whole other learning process that comes into it. But, the interview is mildly intimidating. Like I said, they’re very friendly, so it was a pleasant experience.

Interviewer: What should the applicant wear to the job interview?
Pizza Hut Employee: Khaki pants, maybe a button-up dress shirt. That’s what I would recommend. That’s what I wore, and I got the job. Definitely don’t look like a slob.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Pizza Hut Employee: They wanted to know your hours, your availability. They wanted to know if you had worked at Pizza Hut in the past. They ask you about your driving record. If you want to be a delivery driver, it’s important to have a good driving record, and that’s what they focus on.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking for employment?
Pizza Hut Employee: Tell them you’re willing to work whatever hours you can. They love that. Anywhere you’d work, that would be great advice. It’s real flexible. They have a lot of people on their schedule, so there are a lot of different shifts. It’s great for school; if you’re in school, they’ll work around your school schedule amazingly. They’ll give you the hours that you need. Basically, just tell them that you’re willing to work, whatever hours you can get you would appreciate, and they’ll definitely take that into consideration.

If you want to work at Pizza Hut a good interview tip is to mention that you have an excellent driving record. Good luck. Drivers also make tips so it is a great job that you can work part-time or full time.

Nothing to be nervous about for an interview. Mine was basically a meet & greet with more paperwork. The only way you can apply at a Pizza Hut around my area is by online only. So filling out the application is a breeze.

The hiring process was long though. You have to be very patient. Doesn’t seem like Managers have much hiring power. For almost every paper I had to fill out, it had to be sent to “corporate” to be signed off on. This is what made my hiring process so long.

To be more specific, from the day of my interview, it took 12 days for me to finally start working there.

Just a reminder that you gotta be 18 to be hired as a delivery boy at Pizza Hut. For the other jobs I think it’s 16.
