Managing workers entails scheduling, motivating, and supervising employees. Overseeing logistics includes monitoring inventory, maintaining shipment records, and evaluating costs. In addition, warehouse managers must maintain constant communication with vendors, suppliers, and retail stores. Distribution managers must also ensure employees follow company safety and health policies. At larger retailers, the warehouse manager may direct a team of other managers who control aspects of distribution.
