Wendy’s Job Opportunities

Known for serving fresh ground beef patties, Wendy’s operates as the third largest fast food chain in the world. Founder Dave Thomas introduced the company in 1969, and now the restaurant chain operates approximately 6,650 locations in the U.S. and in 27 other countries across the globe. Wendy’s staffs over 42,000 employees in restaurant and administrative capacities. Inspiration for the “old-fashioned” hamburgers came from Dave Thomas’ trips to Kewpee in his hometown of Kalamazoo, MI, which sold square hamburgers and thick malt shakes.

Mostly noted for the immensely popular “Where’s the beef?” ad campaign with actress Clara Peller in the 1980s, the Wendy’s fast food chain uses fresh beef for hamburgers and other sandwiches. The restaurant company also prepares fresh salads every day with 11 types of greens and fresh toppings. Salads may include red and green apples, natural cheeses, and no-preservative dressings. Recently, Wendy’s modified its French fry recipe, which now features natural-cut fries seasoned with sea salt. Other Wendy’s menu items include the Baconator, grilled chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes, chili, wraps, and the famous Frosty shake.

With locations spanning the globe, Wendy’s regularly hires crew members to provide guests with exceptional service and quality food. Wendy’s also offers shift supervisor positions and managerial opportunities to qualified workers. Wendy’s employees should possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to solve problems quickly and follow orders, honesty and dependability, and good communication and writing skills. Workers interested in management positions with the fast food restaurant chain should have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
