Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Acme Market Employee: So, my role at the time was cashier. And so I would run the cashier. I would also do packing. Which, if there wasn’t enough packers, I would, like, go to another register, help packing. I would clean up around the stores if needed. Or if there was just not a lot of people, we would just clean around the stores, and stuff like that. Put stuff back into places. So, that was it.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Acme Market Employee: The work environment was actually pretty fun. I got to meet a lot of new people, because it was my first job. So I got to meet a lot of new people. And they were, like, really cool to work around. And I loved it there.
Interviewer: Please describe the application and interview process.
Acme Market Employee: I put in an application, I think, like, the beginning of the summer. Or maybe, like, a couple weeks before I actually went back. And I kind of got through my school, because my teacher knows him, knows the manager that was there. So I told them, like, I do know this teacher. And it was like, okay. So he was like, all right. He asked me to come up there. We just had, like, a five-minute discussion about, like, you know, where I see myself. And then, what did we do? He was just, like … and then we started talking about school and stuff. And then he was like, oh well you’re hired, you know? I was like, okay.
Interviewer: With other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Acme Market Employee: I would say, like, kind of be persistent. Like, you know, call and make sure they’re still hiring. I will say, dress nice. Because I try and dress nice, you know, to show that I actually care. Have a smile on your face, and just be yourself.
