ALDI Cashier Interview Video
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
ALDI Cashier: ALDI’s, I worked as a cashier. Sometimes, I stocked, because there you do both stock and cash register. So my typical day, I would come in, clock in, see if I’m on register. If I’m not on register, I would sweep up, stock, and try to keep myself busy until it was time for me to get on register, or see if I can help the other cashier, see what I can do around the store until my shift is over, basically.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
ALDI Cashier: The application was online, and you filled it out. I called them and I gave them my email address. I kept calling back until I finally went in, asked them for a paper application, filled that out, called them up again, told them, “Y’all said you were hiring. I put an application in online. I did a paper application. Could I please get an interview regardless if you hire me or not?” And they gave me a chance to come in and have an interview.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
ALDI Cashier: They wanted to know have I ever did cashier work before. If so, how long? Where was it at? Why do I think I would be a nice candidate to work at this store? That’s it.
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
ALDI Cashier: Because I kept persisting, trying to get this job. I see you’re not calling, but you still have got this help wanted sign out. So, I just kept being persistent, like you’re going to hire me or you’re at least going to give me a chance to try to prove myself to you. Come in, have an interview. Maybe if I talk to you, you can at least give me a chance.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
ALDI Cashier: Never give up. If you get hired, go to work on time. Be to work on time. If you have to miss, try to see if you can find another person that can take your day, switch days with. Just be persistent, be on time, and if you want a job, you have to show them that you really want this job, because ain’t nothing handed to nobody for free. You’ve got to work for what you want.
