What Does a Stocker at Aldi Do?
A stocker is responsible for monitoring the store’s inventory. They keep products organized and display them accordingly with accurate price tags. A worker must be able to operate machinery to load or unload merchandise from delivery trucks. The job is physically demanding with long hours of standing as well as lifting up to 45 pounds at a time.
Requirements and What To Expect
Aldi employees must be at least eighteen years old with an education equal to a high school diploma or greater. This entry-level position does not require prior work in a retail environment. Attention to detail, following directions, and time management skills benefit a new hire looking for a great employment experience.

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
ALDI Stocker: I was a stock person. I took care of all the stock, kept it clean, kept the area clean and everything, stocked all the produce.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
ALDI Stocker: Oh, it was nice, the people was nice, the coworkers, the bosses, everything. It was very nice.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
ALDI Stocker: Well, my favorite part was the job itself. It was, the work wasn’t hard. It’s easy, the time was convenient, everything was convenient.
Interviewer: Please describe the application and interview process.
ALDI Stocker: Yeah, just a regular application like other jobs I’ve worked, verifying everything. Simple application. And when I went, I had my interview. Simple, asked me how did I find out about the place? What was I looking for in it? Okay. And they walked me through, told me everything that I’ve had to do. I liked it, you know what I’m saying? Everything came at a good time for me.
Interviewer: How were you notified that you received the job?
ALDI Stocker: Well, they reached out to me by phone. It didn’t take, like three days.
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
ALDI Stocker: Probably is more experienced.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
ALDI Stocker: Oh, well, just be yourself. Be decent. Be responsible. You have a good mind, mindset, and you will get the job. All you have to do is listen to what they tell you. Just to be considerate of what they want from you and go from there.

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
ALDI Employee: Stock was my basic duty, but if I wasn’t having nothing to stock, I had to find something to do, like push a broom, go outside and get the carts, help people take their bags out to the car.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
ALDI Employee: I got along with everybody. The only thing I did was just did my job. And the people were great, so I had no complaints. I left there because I started going to college. It was a good environment for me. I liked it. It gave me a lot of work experience around older people. It was great.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
ALDI Employee: I liked what I was doing. I wasn’t trying… it was an easy job to me. I was young, so I just did what I had to do and got paid for it.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
ALDI Employee: I would get there right when they opened up. I would go and take the trash out, then I would tear boxes down, break boxes down. Then after that, whatever needed stocked on the shelves, I would do that. And basically once I got done with that, it was freelance. Go outside and pick up paper in the parking lot, get the carts and put them in the right places. That’s about it.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
ALDI Employee: It was a basic application: name, address, hours, work experience. I sent it in, and they called me two days later. I came in, talked to them. They said they’d give me a call. They called me like three hours later to tell me I could start the next day. He asked me what day I could start. I said I could start tomorrow, and I was there.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
ALDI Employee: “Do you want to work?” Yes, I did. It was a simple application process. Also, don’t get caught taking nothing. If you see somebody taking something, report it to the manager. Stuff like that. But it’s just a simple, basic process.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
ALDI Employee: Just be yourself, do you job, be patient, and be courteous.
