Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
AMC Theaters Crew Member: I don’t know if I had a title – employee, team member – but I did everything. I ripped tickets, sold concessions, restocked the counter, cleaned the theaters, change the film reels, that kind of thing.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
AMC Theaters Crew Member: Well, it’s very, very relaxed, easy job. Pretty much only busy when the movie would start, and then you’d just be relaxed for two hours, then maybe 10 minutes of action, and then relaxed for two more hours.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
AMC Theaters Crew Member: Very brief paper application: “Why do you want to work here? What previous experience do you have in customer service?” Then, the in-person interview was also very brief. It’s a simple job. Just about anyone could have done it.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
AMC Theaters Crew Member: First question they obviously ask is, “Why do you want to work here?” So, I incorporated I love movies, talking and meeting people, stuff like that. Then, they pretty much asked, “Can you stand on your feet for eight hours?” Stuff like that. It was literally just ripping tickets and restocking. It was super easy.

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
AMC Theaters Crew Member: Definitely confidence. You always walk in and think, “Hey, I don’t have the job now, so I’ve got nothing to lose.” So, you walk in, look at the person in the eye, give them a big smile, like, “Hey, nice to meet you,” stuff like that.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
AMC Theaters Crew Member: Prepare. I mean, for an interview at AMC or anywhere, just any interview, just prepare, prepare, prepare. Have a parent or friend just ask you some fake interview questions. The more prepared you are, the more confident you’re going to be, the more likely you are to get hired.
