Applebee’s Grill Cook Interview Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Applebee’s Grill Cook: Basically, grill cook, and anything else they needed from me. It was good.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Applebee’s Grill Cook: It was a good atmosphere. It got to the point where the customers got to know me when they came in. Being a cook on the grill, they came in when I worked. They liked the way I prepared the food, so it was great.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Applebee’s Grill Cook: The atmosphere, the fellow employees. The supervisors were cool. Just the atmosphere on the whole.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Applebee’s Grill Cook: When I started there, I was working the lunch shift. It was kind of slow. Then, I asked to move to the evenings. It was just more family oriented, people were very satisfying to work for. As a whole, it was just a great experience.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Applebee’s Grill Cook: At the time when I did interview, they had an ad in the paper. I went in, and they were desperate. I just filled out the application, they looked at my experience. Basically, she just looked at me and asked when I could start. I told her, “When do you need me?” I went in around 1:00pm, and she asked, “Well, can you work this evening?”, and I said, “Yes I can.”

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Applebee’s Grill Cook: It was basically the same questions like any other kind of interview. “What would you like to start with?”, “What kind of schedule do you want?”, “Are you the type of person, when you call off, would you call ahead of time and let us know?” Basic stuff like that.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Applebee’s Grill Cook: To go into the interview… as you see I have earrings, but when I went to apply, I made sure I didn’t have them in. I had slacks on and a nice crisp shirt and tie. I answered my questions crisply, but they were pressed for time. But, go in with a lot of enthusiasm, have a great resume, and just sit down and relax. Don’t panic.

Applebee’s Dishwasher Interview Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Applebee’s Dishwasher: I was a dishwasher. So, it was stacking plates, washing dishes. Sometimes, I do a little bit of food prep. Other than that, nothing really. Utility. That’s about what the job was.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Applebee’s Dishwasher: Well, it was good. The boss was really nice. The employees were nice. It wasn’t bad. The most you get out of every day is a couple of conversations with the wait staff. You’re working, and they’re working, as well. It was good, though.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Applebee’s Dishwasher: A lot of dishes. A lot of dishes and a lot of fast-moving stuff. If someone needs something done – if there’s a spill, you clean it up. You need to be on your toes.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Applebee’s Dishwasher: The application process took a little while because they’re a big company. But once it got rolling, it was pretty fast-paced. The application… it took them about three weeks to respond. And, after that, the interview went pretty quickly. It took about half-an-hour to an hour. So, that was that.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Applebee’s Dishwasher: Pretty much the normal: “What makes you different?”, “What skills do you have that will make you good for here?”, “Are you a people person?”, “Are you a hard worker?”, “Do you like working?” Stuff like that.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Applebee’s Dishwasher: Find a good reference because they usually go off references and stuff, and personal experience, and other people’s views on you, so they have more information about you. And, just be confident in yourself, so that way it shows that you’re not afraid to really get down and show yourself. If your personality when you’re interviewed and your personality when you’re working are different, you’re going to get laid-off.
