Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Bank of America Employee: I work at Bank of America. I’m a teller, and pretty much I can do cash handling, and I help people with their money, making payments, deposits, withdrawals, stuff like that.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Bank of America Employee: Pretty much just working with a bunch of coworkers, and it’s kind of a more intense environment, because we’re dealing with a lot of money. So, it’s more responsibility and just being careful not to misplace anything, and being really safe, so nothing happens.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Bank of America Employee: You just open in the morning. There’s all these different types of drills to opening procedures and closing procedures. You just have to be a little bit careful with safety issues and stuff like that. Then, you kind of just get into work and do your daily rituals. It’s fun. If you have good coworkers and managers, it’s nice to be around them. Always interacting with people constantly, and just dealing with a lot of money, and sometimes angry people, but that’s always a good thing. It’s always fun.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Bank of America Employee: I applied online, and I ended up going in for an interview. It was a group interview. It was cool. It was a good environment. They didn’t really put you on the spot, so it was nice, and you got to talk about yourself, but you are dealing with other people in the group interview. So, it was a little bit more trying to make yourself presentable and better than the other applicants.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Bank of America Employee: Just about… one thing I remember was they asked me my previous jobs. Like, “What’s a typical day there?” and “What are my duties and responsibilities?”
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
Bank of America Employee: I had a lot of experience in sales, and I did go to school, so I had some education, and I am a people person, so I like to talk to people, interact with all types of people. So, I think that definitely helped me. My communication skills definitely helped me.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Bank of America Employee: Definitely go for it. It’s a great job, very enjoyable. It’s a lot of responsibility, because there is a lot of money, and it could be misplaced, or anything could happen. It’s quick that something could happen, and you have to be careful, be responsible.
