Best Buy Cashier: I was a cashier, so my primary job was to process transactions at a very fast pace.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Best Buy Cashier: I thought it was pretty cool. The coworkers are really awesome. Best Buy is usually a pretty clean store, so I thought it was pretty nice.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Best Buy Cashier: I think interacting with customers that ask about product, and seeing how excited they get. Also the coworkers – I made a lot of good friends – so that was a very awesome part of working there.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Best Buy Cashier: Applications were kind of lengthy, especially the survey. It could be kind of ambiguous because if I thought I didn’t put strongly agree I wouldn’t get the job. Part of it was questions that you had to agree or disagree on, strongly agree or strongly disagree, to get the job. I never had that kind of experience, so I thought it was kind of hard.

Best Buy Cashier: During interview, work experience, which I didn’t have at the time, how to contribute to Best Buy, what were my strengths and weaknesses.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Best Buy Cashier: I would recommend coming in with a smile on their face.

Best Buy Cashier: I was a cashier there. I had to obviously ring out customers and try to sell warranties. And that was pretty much it. My job was based on was how many warranties I sold. If I didn’t sell enough I’d get fired.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Best Buy Cashier: It was hectic, a lot of people always coming in and out. That’s basically how I would describe it. I worked during the holiday season, so it was always packed, always busy, always people standing in line.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Best Buy Cashier: Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Also, we got a pretty nice discount on a lot of electronics, so that was nice.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Best Buy Cashier: Stand around, ring up people, and try to sell warranties. That was about it.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Best Buy Cashier: The application was online. It was pretty lengthy. During application, they asked a lot of behavioral questions and situational questions. I know that was a big part of the application. They called me in and it was a group interview.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Best Buy Cashier: I called a couple times, asking if they checked my application, and I think that’s a big thing that sets people apart.
