Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
BJ’s Restaurant Employee: So, I was a server, and my primary duties were taking people’s drink orders, then taking their food orders, and getting food from the back, and making sure customers had everything they needed.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
BJ’s Restaurant Employee: It was really fast-paced. We get pretty busy. So, it could get a little chaotic, but it was a fun atmosphere.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
BJ’s Restaurant Employee: The application was online, and I had a friend that worked there who referred me, so I think that helped me get hired. I felt that it was just another application online. But, the interview was kind formal, but it was pretty standard.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
BJ’s Restaurant Employee: They wanted to know what your strengths were or what your weaknesses were. Just asked me about past job experiences and what I liked about other jobs, what I found challenging.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
BJ’s Restaurant Employee: Just go in there with a smile on your face, be very enthusiastic about the job, because they really want people that are kind of upbeat and excited to be there. If you already got the job, just be prepared to be in a fast-paced environment, where you’re not going to have much time for breaks, but it pays off in the end.

    Went for my interview today and was told that they didn’t have an opening .So if they didn’t need anymore people why call me for an interview? I feel I wasn’t hired because of my age. My interviewer kept saying this is a fast paced restaurant like she didn’t think I would be able to keep up with the fast pace of the restaurant because of me being a older women .So feel I was discriminated against because of my age.
