Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: I was a crew member at Bruegger’s Bagels. What I would do is I would work at the food line to deal with customers and serving food and making the bagels. Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: It dealt a lot with teamwork. You had to…if you’re on the line, you would need to have communication with the person at the cash register, people on the line helped each other. It was a lot of teamwork.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: The hours. Because I like waking up early and ending my day early so I have the time to do other things. So I would get there at like six and I would…A shift with typically be like four to five hours. Well, for me, because I was a high school student. It closes at four. Even on school days, I would go there, work a couple hours and it would close at four, at least my location did.

Interviewer: Please describe the application and interview process.
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: It was an online application though, so you fill out all your information there and then walk in the first day and you would watch tutorial videos, and that’s how you learn the basics. Then you get hands-on training with another employee.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: My interview was very casual. I walked in, they sat me down at a table. I was interviewed by my manager and we just had a normal conversation like, what hours can you work? Are you able to work? Do you have a car? Like tell me about yourself and yeah, it was very laid back.

Interviewer: How were you notified that you received the job?
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: I got a call. It did not take that long because they were…They needed people because high school students come and go, so it was not that…It was within weeks of applying online.

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Bruegger’s Bagels Crew Member: I would definitely work in the food industry at least one time to deal with customer service. The way people really are because you either get really nice people or people who are picky and it’s a good experience to know how you’re going to deal with certain situations.
