Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: Well I started as a sales associate. All I did was I was on cash register or I’d be walking around folding clothes, helping customers. Then after five or six months, then I got bumped up to sales lead and then I was strictly on the cash register. That’s all I did. Cash register and then I ran the suiting department. I really didn’t have to do anything, I just kind of delegated people to do stuff in the suiting department.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: It was super relaxed. The general manager was really cool, she didn’t care what we did as long as work got done, as long as you kept yourself busy. Everybody that worked there they were all cool. There was no problems ever.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: The application, I just literally walked in, filled out an application, and then they told me they were having interviews that day an hour later. I asked if I could go home and change and stuff. I went home and changed, came back for the interview, and it was a group interview. I’d never done one before, so I was kind of nervous for a group interview, but they just asked general questions. Why would you like to work here? What to you is good customer service? It was kind of basically like a free for all. They would just ask it up and whoever wanted to answer the question, just jumped in there and answered it.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: The customer service. What we considered good customer service. A time that good customer service was shown to us. If we would like to see that. They asked qualities about yourself. They would go around and ask what do you think is your strongest quality?

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: I felt like you’re not going to get noticed if you never say anything. There was seven of us, and I think three of them didn’t even say a word, unless she specifically said what do you think to that person, then they would answer. I definitely thing that you had to jump out there and get yourself seen and know, so they would choose you over somebody else that didn’t talk.

Interviewer: How were you notified that you received the job?
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: I was notified by a phone call two or three days after, and then I was starting the next week. I got called in the middle of the week, and they said you start Monday.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Calvin Klein Sales Associate: Dress nice because they definitely look at the way you present yourself. If you come in looking like a slob, they know that before you even fill out the application. Be polite and make sure you stand out, answer all the questions, make sure you come prepared.

Calvin Klein Sales Representative: I was just the retail rep, I guess, it’s a sales rep. My duties was to ensure that all the customers were served and fulfilled, and made sure the store was in order at all times. Also, monitor the fitting rooms, and make sure that every item is in stock, and provide as much information to customers as I could and be as helpful as possible.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Calvin Klein Sales Representative: It depends on the season, honestly. Where I was working was a tourist area, so during Christmas season of course it was busy, and then also in the summer it would be very busy. During the spring or just fall months, it was pretty slow. On the weekends it would also be crowded, but the pace was pretty manageable for the most part, definitely. There’s always enough hands to accomplish that.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Calvin Klein Sales Representative: Well I was referred to the job by a friend, because in the outlets where the store was, there were, the managers all had connections to different stores for various reasons. At the time they were in need of an employee, so I heard about the job, and they were very expedient about getting the application and going through the interview process. The interview wasn’t difficult, or it wasn’t too demanding either.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Calvin Klein Sales Representative: Well of course the typical, “Tell me about yourself,” and then they asked about any skills or hobbies that I might have pertaining to the job.

Interviewer: What should an applicant wear to the interview?
Calvin Klein Sales Representative: Your proper dress attire. Make sure your shirt’s tucked in, clothes are ironed of that sort, collared shirt definitely.

Interviewer: How were you notified that you received the job?
Calvin Klein Sales Representative: After the interview, I was immediately notified that I got the job, so just had to wait for the background check and all of that type of legalities to go through. Then after that, we started working within a week or so.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Calvin Klein Sales Representative: I would recommend always being cordial. Basically make yourself approachable to the customers, because they may not always want to ask you for help, but make sure that they know that you’re able to offer them help if they were to need it. Also, you should be patient with them also. Also, always being aware to make sure that the surroundings are clean and presentable for whoever may enter the store.

Opposed to what I would wear to a topshop interview for example. And if anyone knows what questions they may ask .. Opposed to the usual interview questions . Thank u

    Hi I have an interview at the London Headquarters for Calvin Klein tomorrow for the role of Duel Site Manager, I have been advised by my recruitment agent to wear a full business corporate suit, and after researching on the internet – alot – I have learnt that most CK employees are known as Calvin Klones… and all wear the same thing – a very chic black suit and white dress shirt – and so, this is what I am wearing with some killer red lippy and nails to show some confidenece.

    I have been requested to prepare a SWOT Analysis of the stores I would be managing (Strengths, Weaknesses, Oppourtunities & Threats) in power point format to use as a presentation within my 90 minute interview, which – as well as a 2 month business plan for added “wow, we have to take her on” – I have done.

    So says my recruitment agent the types of questions to be prepared for are such as:
    What do you know about Calvin Klein?
    What do you know about the role you are applying for?
    Why do you want to work for Calvin Klein?

    All pretty easy questions, but need to be answered properly – not… cus I want more money…lol
    I have found it useful and very interesting to search for Klein info on the web, not just looking at the website (but obviously do this as well…)

    I worked for CK for 6 months and I was a Asst. Mgr……Dress in all black, be sleek and stylish, not too much jewlery (if any). Look neat and smile.
    Calvin Klein is a very fashion driven industry so the are looking for a certain look! (Wht. Gay men) but me being an african-american woman I definitely broke the mold. Even though I ran into problems later with a couple of “haters”. They pay very good for management and every week pay check. No Drug Testing RQ.

    I just recently interviewed with Calvin Klein and found the questions to be pretty basic. There is one of those “truth” test that was actually kinda…hard in a way. The best thing to do is be honest even if it seems like the wrong answer. I don’t know if I’m hired or not but I do believe there is a good chance because my references have been called.

    As soon as I handed in my cv, they called me an 1 hour later to come in for an interview, I went through the whole process of the interview, they first asked about myself and my previous job role, and then when I was done with that, I then passed to the second stage which was, walking the manager through the store and how I see the store myself, in terms of how products are placed, the stock, the presentation of the store, what type of customers that come into the store to buy, so on so fourth, then I got through to the third stage, which was about, finding out the way I approch and serve customers, he then asked me, why I wanted to work for Calvin Klein, and reasons why I dropped cv in the store, I then explained myself, and then the interview was finished, it seemed like he was happy and impressed with the answers I gave him throughout the interview process, so he said he’ll call me either today or tomorrow. 5 o clock gone pass and still mo phone call.
