Costco Stocker Interview Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Costco Stocker: My job title was stocker. I worked in the back a lot unpacking boxes, like merchandise. Also stocking the shelves for the customers.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Costco Stocker: For the most part there was always something to do. You weren’t ever really bored which is a good thing in my opinion. Time flew by, but it was good. I really like the other employees. They got a good group of people there and I really liked everybody that worked there. It was a good environment. I’d definitely recommend it for anybody.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Costco Stocker: A typical day. Of course you would check in and there would usually be a shipment from the night before. You do a lot of unloading and then just shipping everything out into the main store. Making sure everything is lined up in the front. I did that a lot during the day too. Making sure everything is straightened out in the front.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Costco Stocker: It was good. I think I put my application in and I heard back from them within, I think a week and a half or two weeks. Then I got a job interview and then after that I think it took about a week for them to get back to me. I had gotten the job, so it wasn’t too bad.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Costco Stocker: One of them I remember: “Is the customer always right?” Which I think is a pretty popular question for people that are in the customer service industry. Also just asking about your work ethics are like. That sort of stuff.

Interviewer: What should an applicant wear to the interview?
Costco Stocker: I think I wore khakis, a belt and a nice polo, nice shoes. Nothing too fancy because it is Costco but I always thought dress for the job that you want, not the one that you have.

Interviewer: Where there any physical requirements for the job?
Costco Stocker: Yeah. They made sure that you didn’t have any preexisting back problems because there’s a lot of lifting. I mean like knee problems. You have to be in somewhat good physical shape. Yeah, that was about it.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Costco Stocker: Be on time and make sure you do your duties and you’ll have a good time. It was a good job, I think.
