    First of all , NEVER wear jeans to an interview. Even when putting in applications or dropping off a resume wear khakis or nice slacks. There have been a few times where I had an immediate interview, so dress accordingly.As a guy I would wear dress pants and a nice shirt. Shirt and tie always looks nice or and blazer and dress shirt.. Women should wear either a dress, skirt and blouse or nice dress pants maybe a blazer.
    Famous Footwear is big on what they call the Connect 4. 1.Greet the customer, we are supposed to ask “what style of shoe brings you in today?”. 2. Assist her- walk her to the area she needs, tell her about the sales, offer to measure kids feet. 3. Help her make a good decision- answer questions about shoes, offer accessories that they may need, steer her towards shoes appropriate for what they want them for. 4. Keep her connected to the brand- sign them up for rewards program, prompt check out, check both shoes for right and left and same size.
    They are also big on loss prevention, need to ‘bounce’ from one customer to another. Most of the day a manager will be by themselves, sometime in the later afternoon you will get another associate to work with.
    To start, if you are an asst manager, ask for 12 and you should get it. They will try to pay you as little as possible, I am not sure what sales associates start at I think it is 8 in Michigan. If you are coming in as an Associate Manager you will probably get 15-16 an hour but if you are an assistant and get promoted they will try to only give you a 20 percent or less raise. Not a bad job but definitely not a lot of room for advancement. Sorry for the long message but I work there now and just want to help
