Video Transcript
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
H&M Sales Associate: At H&M, my job title was a sales associate. What I would do was help customers and things of that nature.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
H&M Sales Associate: I would say that the atmosphere was very welcoming. Everyone there was very inclusive, and it was just a good work environment. I really enjoyed it.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
H&M Sales Associate: Okay, well a typical day for a sales associate at H&M would be: you go in, you will clock in, go to the back, look at the board. We usually have a duties board, and it tells where you’re going to be for that day. Usually, it’s pretty accurate, or sometimes the manager will come and tell you, “We’re not going by the board today” or “We don’t have anything, so we’re going to assign you a specific location.” Sometimes, usually because I was really good at it, I would do greeter. I would greet customers and take care of the front entrance of the store. By the end of the day if I was there all night, I would help with closing and assisting customers with their final expenses and things of that nature. Counting money sometimes if it was just me and the manager.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
H&M Sales Associate: I asked the manager for an application and I applied. Interview process was basic questions about my experience in retail and things of that nature.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
H&M Sales Associate: It was mostly related to the retail industry. I will say one question I remember… they will ask you what… describe your style and what sets your style different from other people’s style. So, that was the question that stuck out to me.
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
H&M Sales Associate: I would say the biggest thing that I’m sure stood out was my experience in retail and also my organization skills, being a college student. That’s what I believe that made me stand out.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
H&M Sales Associate: I would definitely tell someone who is going to start a job at H&M, just be yourself and it will all be easy and it will be fun. If you just go in there with a positive, optimist attitude, everything will flow and it will be a good experience.

Video Transcript
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
H&M Sales Advisor: Basically I just worked the floor and the cash register at H&M. We would have to set up all the clothes, fold them the right way, and put them in size order. Whenever we had sales, we have to stay in until two in the morning sometimes setting everything up. That’s basically it. I would ring people up and work the fitting rooms, too, and whatever they would bring out of the fitting rooms, we’d have to put it back.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
H&M Sales Advisor: On weekends, it was kind of hectic, because everybody was running around, and then people would be asking a bunch of questions, like where’s this thing. You might not remember, so you’d be running around while trying to do five other things, like trying to find some other shirt for some other person. Or, there’d be a huge line at the cash register, so you’d have to go work there. Weekends were a little more hectic. On weekdays, I feel like it was a little slower.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
H&M Sales Advisor: I didn’t have a set routine every single day. It was kind of like what they needed. If they needed me to go work the floor and set things up, then that’s what I would do. If they needed me to be cash register that’s what I would do. If they needed someone in the fitting room… it’s what they needed on that day.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
H&M Sales Advisor: I don’t really feel like it was a hard job to get, just because I’ve had experience. I worked at a doctor’s office, so I was already good with working with people. They just asked the basic questions of what would you bring to this company or what were your past experiences. It was basic. It wasn’t too hard.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
H&M Sales Advisor: They asked me about my school, and if I had been in team based activities since you have to work with people. I told them the clubs I was in at school. I was on the track team, and stuff like that. They wanted to make sure you could work with people.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
H&M Sales Advisor: Just be very confident in your interview. I feel like if you are intimated by the whole interview process… just be confident, hide it, and just be confident.
