Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Jack In The Box Cashier: I was a cashier, and sometimes I’ll alternate to fryer, when people are on breaks, but mainly cashier and drive-thru.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Jack In The Box Cashier: Everybody was friendly, supportive. I felt like if I had a question or I messed up somewhere, they would tell me, “Don’t worry, we’ll help you.” So, I think it was very supportive.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Jack In The Box Cashier: Well, we had our busy moments and chill moments, where, for example, when people got out of school, we have all the exam people coming, or lunchtime, for example. Mainly, in downtime, we’ll just clean up around, but we’re really busy working. The day goes by really fast.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Jack In The Box Cashier: It was a general application. It was actually a paper application, mainly because it was a while back. Maybe things are online now. I did a paper application, and then they gave me a questionnaire, kind of to see if you qualify to work for them – if you’re professional, if you’re responsible. Then, I had an interview with the manager and just expressed my interest in working there. What kind of qualities I carry, how I would be a perfect fit for the employment opportunity. So, it’s really simple.

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
Jack In The Box Cashier: I was very driven to work. I needed a job. I felt like my motivation to work met their motivation to hire someone, so it was like a perfect match.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Jack In The Box Cashier: To be open-minded to learning, to working with diverse people. I think a lot of people have different attitudes and personalities, and to just be open-minded, and not take things personal when things are busy, to take deep breaths, and remember it’s a job.
