Kelly Services Employee: With Kelly, it was tow motor operator. I was unloading trucks, moving things around the plant – some was steel, some was plastic. It was probably the first job I worked with that had steel and plastic in the same building. I’d have to go from one plant to another, which was right next to each other. One side was steel, and one was plastic. I’d go back and forth and have to work with people from each side, make sure we were doing what we were supposed to be doing.

Kelly Services Employee: A lot of other temp services, they don’t ask you what’s a good fit for you. They just shove you in the first thing you can get. They actually try and find you a good job, something that’ll fit for you. And I have nothing negative to say about them.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Kelly Services Employee: I could call Kelly any time I had a problem, and they handled it pretty well.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Kelly Services Employee: I called them, a recruiting department who sent me to Kelly. Kelly called me back, and they asked me a bunch of questions over the phone. I sent in my resume online. I filled out an application online. I believe it was an application online, or just my resume. So quick and easy. I had somebody call me back, and they scheduled me an interview.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Kelly Services Employee: One of the things they definitely ask: “Do you have any felonies? Do you have any misdemeanors?” “Are you a drug user?” That’s something that they don’t tolerate, which I’m good for that. There’s nothing worse than working with someone who’s high. They don’t tolerate that stuff, which is great. So, they definitely ask you those questions. For the driving job that I had applied for, they asked me if I had pulled an abstract, which is a BMV report, what was on my license. I think I had two points at the time. They were like, “Well, what were they for?” Making sure I wasn’t doing anything illegal. They asked me about the felonies and misdemeanors. They asked me about how I felt about that type of job. Did I feel it was a good fit for me? Did I feel it was something that I could do? Was it strenuous on me? Could I perform the tasks that they wanted? Because there was some heavy lifting, climbing in and out of a truck all day long. They asked if I had a problem with working fast-paced, or was I more of a steady pace. Do I mind multi-tasking? You can think of a question, they’ll ask you. They’ll really pick your brain.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Kelly Services Employee: Know what you want going there. Don’t wait to be asked. Tell them what you’re looking for.
