Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Little Caesars Assistant Manager: I was assistant manager at Little Caesars for two-and-a-half years. Basically, I did everything from opening and closing the store, to making orders, washing dishes, running register, answering phone calls, things like that. Basically, everything that needed to be done, I did.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Little Caesars Assistant Manager: It was very laid back. It was a lot of high schoolers that worked there, so you know, it wasn’t very strict, and it was in a part of town that wasn’t really busy. No one knew really that the store was there, so it wouldn’t get busy until like Friday and Saturday.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Little Caesars Assistant Manager: Just like the simplicity of it. Just the way it works is kind of like… I don’t know how to say it, like a conventional line. You just go from one step to the other, and then once the food is made and ready, you just put it in the box, and then every 30 minutes, you rotate it. It’s just really simple, and probably the easiest job I’ve ever worked.

Interviewer: Please describe the application and interview process.
Little Caesars Assistant Manager: I went in when I found out the store was being built, and I walked in to apply, and I was the first person that had showed up to apply, so they gave me the job right on the spot, but they were like, “You know, fill out the application. We’ll call you, bring you back.” Then I went in while the store was still… Like, everything was so being brought in, and they trained about, I think three or four of us. Then I picked up right when we started opening.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Little Caesars Assistant Manager: Make sure you know your strengths and weaknesses, and if you do get the job there, make sure you show up on time. Make sure you show up to every shift and just do your job well, because it’s such an easy job.

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Little Caesars Cook: So my job title was a cook. We actually had many different job duties as a cook. We could do dish-washing. We could also work the line, the ovens, and a thing that is called sheet-outs with the dough. You press the dough, make the dough nice and flat. What’s good about Little Caesars is that as a cook you could also be involved with the managers. If the managers wanted you to do something, you can go do it for them. My basic thing, I was always sheet-outs. I was always pretty good at sheet-outs. That pretty much consists of putting dough in a machine and how I think of it, it’s very conveyor belt type. You put this in a machine and you pass it on to the next person and you’re good to go. It was very fast, very quick, very organized too. That was my duty.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Little Caesars Cook: The work environment, like I said, very organized, very organized. They put up what you had to do every day. The people were very nice, managers very, very well, I guess you would say, educated on what they had to do. I actually loved it. I worked there for about a year and a half. I liked it.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Little Caesars Cook: It was actually paper. I had … A lot of it is done online, but at Little Caesars, they did, you know you could walk in and ask for a paper application and filled it out, handed it to my manager, and she hired me. She brought me to her office, called me up one day, and brought me to her office, and she liked my personality. They look for personality, I think they look for the way you talk, different things. You have to be very … You have to communicate very well, because you’re working with customers. They’ll pretty much teach you the culinary type stuff, but pretty much personality and that’s it.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Little Caesars Cook: Specific questions, have I worked in the field. At the time I didn’t work in the food-type business, but it was okay, and they let me. What’s a good thing that I did, I just pretty much told them everything that I do. I told them I was a full-time student. I do volunteer work, I’ve done a lot of volunteer work. I’m trying to go to college, at the time I was in high-school. Pretty much tell them everything. It was just a back and forth type thing. It was very good, very good interview.

Interviewer: How were you notified that you received the job?
Little Caesars Cook: A phone call and it took about, I would say, three days after the interview. So, three days, and it was a phone call. I showed up, I got my t-shirt, and I was ready to go.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Little Caesars Cook: If you like very organized type work, if you like coming in and you know exactly what to do, that’s pretty much a job for you. You don’t necessarily need to know the food business, because you will be taught how to do things, but it’s very organized and it is very repetitive, which was very good for me, so I liked it.

Little Caesars Crew Member: My job title was a crew worker, which basically meant you come in, you do what the manager assigns you to do as far as prepping the pizzas, landing, which was like when the pizza came out of the oven, you cut it, box it up, give to the customers, or you work on the register, which was my favorite part, dealing with the money, and the dishes which nobody really liked to do.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Little Caesars Crew Member: Typical day, you come in to work. You clock in, and if it’s really busy or wherever the manager needs you, he will put you on, like prepping the pizzas or if he has somebody work the cash register. Or if somebody’s about to get off, you take their job. You just… everybody works as a cohesive unit and gets the job done.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Little Caesars Crew Member: For me personally, I went to the job and I expressed interest, basically saying that I was interested in working here. I got the job on the spot because how I was dressed and how I presented myself.

He asked me a couple of questions there. He asked me, “Why do you want to work here? What do you think about Little Caesars?” I just told him like I answered his questions. He was like, “You can start Monday for me.”

I told my friends about it as well who wanted to work there, too. They filled out the application online, and they came in, and they got the interview. And then, it just worked from there. If you got hired, you got hired; if you didn’t, you didn’t.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Little Caesars Crew Member: Basically, your work experience – had you worked at a fast food restaurant? “How do you work under pressure?” Things of that nature. That’s what he was really concerned about, to see if you would be able… because on Friday, on the weekends, we were very busy. He wanted to ask us, “How do you work in a controlled environment? How do you deal with stress? What do you do when it’s chaos, and how do you deal with it?” That’s what his questions were really targeted upon.

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
Little Caesars Crew Member: I had a lot of experience. I worked at a carwash on Saturdays, like on the weekends – that could get really hectic. I had another job with children – daycare. I know how to deal with stress and stay calm. I motivate people, so I made that very clear in my interview when I talked to the manager that day. He was like, “I like how you presented yourself. You came in, you told me what was going on, where you worked.” I felt that’s what really set me apart from others.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Little Caesars Crew Member: I would just say know how to work in a, not only in a controlled environment, but when things get out of hand, just to stay calm. It’s never good to panic and stress and freak out about certain situations. If a lot of customers come in, you just have to learn how to deal with it. It’s all a work in progress. So, I would say never to panic or stress yourself out because at the end of the day, it’s just a job.
