Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Manpower Administrative Assistant: I did clerical, so anyone who was looking for a job position, you’ll come in, fill out your social security information, previous work, employment. We’ll get you registered, do your urine test, and then get you put in the system, so we can find you a placement of a job.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Manpower Administrative Assistant: Fast-paced. Lots of people wanting jobs, so it was moving very quickly. You were constantly busy. We were only open 7am-6pm. We were a pretty much fast-paced environment.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Manpower Administrative Assistant: Antsy. There’s a lot of people who … Sometimes, you don’t really know if you’re going to have a full-time job, or a part-time job, or if the position is just for 2 months. You’ll have people come in. They’ll want work right away. It doesn’t always work like that. It’s kind of on your toes.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Manpower Administrative Assistant: Basically, what I was strong at, I’ve had previous management experience, so that was a plus for them, even though I wasn’t necessarily managing anything there. I’d been through a lot of application processes myself. That was easy for them to hire me to hire someone else.

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
Manpower Administrative Assistant: I went Friday. They called me in that Wednesday, so it was pretty fast. It was during the summer. They send you an email confirmation also and by phone.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Manpower Administrative Assistant: Really, just resumes count, really have a strong resume, just to build you and come professional. Always come dress slacks or skirts that are mid-length, just to sell yourself.

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Manpower Employee: I was a temp to hire for a company. I was a tow motor operator. I hopped on a tow motor. I basically just loaded boxes on and off a truck on pallets. That was what I did for eight, eight and a half hours a day.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Manpower Employee: Everybody I worked with was really nice, and that’s real important. If you can get along with the people you work with, that makes it pretty cool.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Manpower Employee: I called Manpower. I told them I needed a job. They told me to come in for an interview. They gave me… I don’t remember exactly what times they told me to come in. I came in, filled out an application. They asked me a bunch of questions on what kind of work can I do. Do I have tow motor experience was actually the first thing they asked me, and I said, “Yeah.” They got me in. Like I said, I called twice. They said call in in the morning to check. It was about two, three in the afternoon by the time I got done with the process. I wasn’t there very long. I called the next day, and they said they had something come in that they thought I’d be a good fit for. And the next day after that, I called in and they were like, “We got you a job.” They were actually getting ready to call me.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Manpower Employee: If I had verifiable experience, if I had references. It was actually probably the easiest application I ever did. I think it took me maybe 10 minutes. I filled out my background. They asked me if I had any felonies or anything like that. I didn’t. Misdemeanors. I originally went in for a driving job, which they did not have any driving jobs, but I did mention that I had a lot of jack of all trades, master of none… They were pretty thorough about me going through and finding what I would like.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Manpower Employee: Comb your hair. Put on a nice set of clothes. Be representable. Go in there with a positive attitude. Go in there early. Everybody likes it when you’re early. Maybe you have to sit there a couple extra minutes, but it shows the person that’s going to interview or talk to you that you actually want to be there. It’s all in attitude. Keep a smile on your face. Have a good attitude. That’s the best advice I can give.
