The brief and extremely informal interviews may take place in the dining area of the select location or even while standing at the counter.

The Traditional Process

The traditional method of gaining employment at Moe's Southwest Grill involves submitting required applicant information and scheduling a job interview with a potential manager based on information provided. Hiring personnel leaf through the eligible candidates and regularly select individuals with open availability.

Formal Interviews

During interviews, job seekers sit through relaxed, question-and-answer sessions with a manager or supervisor for half an hour or less. Many locations impose food handling and general safety tests as either part of the hiring process or initial stages of onboarding to ensure performance on the job.

Important Attributes

Qualities and important characteristics include the abilities to work quickly and efficiently, greet guests as they enter, and display cheerful attitudes at all times.

The interview process may only take a day or two to complete, with most applicants receiving a job offer at the conclusion of the final interview. However, Moe's Southwest Grill holds on to applicant information for months after submission in case hiring needs arise in the future.

Moe’s Southwest Grill Line Worker Interview Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Moe’s Southwest Grill Line Worker: I was the line worker. When people came in, I would yell, “Welcome to Moe’s,” and I would take their order. Then, I would put the burrito together, the salad together down the line and then I would pour on queso for them if they wanted it. Basically just make their food.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Moe’s Southwest Grill Line Worker: It was really busy because everybody loves Moe’s. Sometimes we’d have lines out the door. I especially like on Sundays and Saturday nights, instead of … it was a little bit stressful at times but it was fun. It was fun. Even though it was busy, it was fun because it was a lot of teamwork. It was enjoyable.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Moe’s Southwest Grill Line Worker: I put in my application there in the summer, then I got a callback from the manager. He asked me to come in for an interview. He asked me questions like how did I work well with others and how did I come through with conflict with others, because with Moe’s, it’s all about the team atmosphere. If you can’t work well with others, it doesn’t really work. Once I got hired, I had two training days where there was a full staff and then I was just there learning how to train with other people. That’s how I learned and after those two training days, I was put on the line.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Moe’s Southwest Grill Line Worker: You work hard but the time goes fast when you work there. I still am really good friends with a lot of people that work at Moe’s. It’s probably my favorite job that I’ve ever had.

  • Jade Logan says:

Well i was just wondering what would i expect to be asked if I did get an interview?

    • Patrick says:

I was just hired by Moe”s and they asked very little questions at the interview. The manager explained the duties of the job and asked if I would be able to perform them. She also asked where I went to high school, and if I was still in college. I have a misdemeanor charge and they did not even ask what I was charged with, and hired me on the spot straight after the interview. As long as you come in smiling, well dressed and groomed, and make eye contact, you’re pretty much guaranteed the job.
