The interview process may include multiple one-on-one interviews, group interviews, and skills assessments. Some interviewers may be more casual with hiring practices, while others may be more procedural and official. Regardless of the nature of interviews, proper preparation and practice will help increase hiring chances greatly.

Lengthy Hiring Process

Being a selective brand, P.F. Chang's often spends considerable time hiring new associates. Depending on the number of applicants, the entire hiring process may take around one or two weeks to complete. Applicants must be patient and maintain frequent contact with hiring personnel without seeming pushy or overbearing.

Preparing for the interview

To help prepare for the interview, candidates may benefit from researching the company; specifically, some of the menu items, company goals, and the overall image P.F. Chang's tries to convey to customers. Additionally, reviewing a personal resume or CV will help applicants present themselves better to hiring personnel.

Potential Interview Questions

Work experience and social skills encompass most of the P.F. Chang's interview process, especially for servers and customer service-based positions. Interviewers may ask variations of questions like:

  • "Why do you want to work here?"
  • "How do you deal with difficult customers?"
  • "How do you stay upbeat when you're working?"
Additionally, many administrative questions posed during the interview process ask if an applicant possesses reliable transportation or flexible availability.

How to Make a Good Impression

P.F. Chang's selects most candidates based on employment histories or personal qualities. Applicants should realize that interviews are more of a way to put a personality to the face of an applicant. Individuals must effectively sell themselves to convince interviewers that they are the best candidate for the job. Several ways to make a good impression include dressing properly for the interview and looking presentable, maintaining good body language and eye contact, and speaking with a clear and coherent tone.

Is it alright to wear slacks or should I wear a dress at PFChangs for my interview? I know not to wear jeans, but wasn’t sure what was expected. If anyone knows, please give post a note.

A new PF Changs is opening near me, and I can’t seem to find an online application. When I go to the restaurant in person, how should I inquire about job positions? Is it a paper application or do I need a resume? Thank you!
