Video Transcript
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Pacsun Sales Associate: I was a sales associate, so basically I cashed people out, I made sure the stocks were stocked and I folded clothes and just made sure they look nice. That’s my primary duties pretty much.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Pacsun Sales Associate: It was very relaxed. I mean most of the time it was relaxed. There’s always unnecessary times where things just got out of hand. But that’s with every work environment, I think. But nothing that wasn’t too bad, you know what I mean? It was a good time. I enjoyed it.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
Pacsun Sales Associate: The discounts for sure. It was a good time. But the friends I made at work and you the experience and the people I got to know there, it was a good time.
Interviewer: Please describe the application and interview process.
Pacsun Sales Associate: Basically, I worked in Belden village, so it’s the mall. And I walked in and asked for an application and I filled it out on the spot and he gave me an interview time the next day. Came in and got the job on spot. So I mean, they needed people. So I figured I’d go in and get a job.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Pacsun Sales Associate: There really wasn’t anything that stuck out to me. It’s just a basic interview. I mean, where I intend to go to college and my goals, want that in high school ’cause I was in high school at that point too. So team aspects with everything, and I work with others and everything.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Pacsun Sales Associate: Definitely stepping with their best foot forward. Don’t look at it as just something that “It’s just a job.” For me, it was fun. I loved going to work every day. That’s just how I looked at it. I’m getting paid to have fun. You know, it’s a good time. Don’t look at it as a job. For me that’s just my perspective on it.

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
PacSun Sales Associate: I was a sales associate – just sort of general level sales. Handled the cash register and stocking the floor.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
PacSun Sales Associate: It was pretty laidback. It was expected that you meet your sales goals. It wasn’t a very strict environment as long as you were doing your job.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
PacSun Sales Associate: Firs thing I remember is we all had to pick up our nametags because it’s mostly high school kids, and they don’t trust you to take them home with you. Check your goals for the day and check in with management to see if we’re supposed to be working on a certain floor set or something and just go about selling clothes.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
PacSun Sales Associate: They wanted to know if I had any retail experience, which I had some. I worked in a pro shop for a golf club, so I had some. And if we had any customer service experience mostly.
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
PacSun Sales Associate: I think I’m just mature for my age, so they saw that I was going to be able to relate to kids my age and handle it with some responsibility.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
PacSun Sales Associate: I would actually recommend that they spend some time shopping there first. I had never really shopped in one because I’m from a small town, and we didn’t have anything like that there. So, just have some kind of familiarity with the brands and the clothes, so when you start working you know what you’re dealing with.
