Short Hiring Process

The ice cream chain selects new associates by conducting simple and straightforward job interviews with qualified candidates. Company officials contact applicants to schedule the interview, usually over the telephone. Interviews with Pinkberry are conversational in nature; a manager will usually meet with applicants individually for about 25 to 35 minutes. The hiring process generally lasts around five days at most locations, allowing managers to select the best candidates.

What to Expect During Your Interview

Job interviews include basic questions that shouldn't overwhelm suitably prepared applicants. Typical questions cover job history, professional skills, and career goals. Interviewers will ask applicants to be proactive during the interview process. Candidates may be asked to create a commercial or advertisement for Pinkberry on the spot. Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Pinkberry Employee: My main job title was as a cashier. However, they made us go through all the duties that they had from cutting fruit to cleaning the area, to cleaning the bathroom, throwing up the trash, to serving the fruit, to making the yogurt and also collecting the money. So, my job title there was a cashier, but everybody seems to be pitching in and doing all the job titles in total.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
Pinkberry Employee: The atmosphere there was actually very chill. At certain times, you know peak hours, there would be a lot of customers coming in, so it got a little bit hectic. But as far as the people there, the fellow employees were very nice as well as the managers. They really made it personal, more than just like a job. They made it more like they were sort of part of a family, I guess I could say.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
Pinkberry Employee: My typical routine for working there would probably come in, sign in, get situated, put on my apron, go in the back, and right away start cutting fruit, washing some of the dishes and then I would come to the front and start serving the fruit after a certain time period.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
Pinkberry Employee: The application and interview process was pretty much… I actually signed up when they were opening a new location, so I emailed them beforehand. They set up a date with me where I actually just went through the interview process once.

I met with them at one of their previous locations. I spoke with the manager for about half an hour, I would say. He asked me questions that really got down to my character mostly instead of my background, my professional background, which made a huge difference I think on all of the employees that work there. That’s why they all have good characteristics, I would say.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Pinkberry Employee: Something they wanted to know about me before they hired me was like how I do well… how I work in an environment with other people, and that was probably one of the biggest things.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Pinkberry Employee: I would tell them to learn and gain experience on how to work with the customers and how to be really friendly when they come into the store, because it’s really based on customer satisfaction, and I think that’s what they’re looking for the most when they’re trying to promote someone.
