What Does a Publix Pharmacy Technician Do?
Publix pharmacy technicians perform several tasks to ensure the pharmacy operates smoothly. Every day, they engage with customers, fill prescriptions, and work alongside pharmacists to provide exceptional customer service and proper patient care.
As such, candidates must have the necessary education credentials, registration, or state license to qualify for this position.
Additional Daily Duties
Most of the training a Publix pharmacy tech receives happens on the job. They handle most matters with prescription drugs, including ordering, receiving, and dispensing medications while answering customer questions.
Techs may also perform health screenings, give immunizations, and work with insurance companies to figure out prescription costs and coverage options.
While performing their duties, Publix pharmacy technicians must follow all company policies and adhere to federal, state and local laws and regulations. A pharmacy tech’s job is essential in a patient-centered work environment.
Techs must be accurate, have a good work ethic, and be willing to provide customers with the best service possible.
Salary and Compensation
How Much Do They Get Paid?
Nationally certified Publix pharmacy technicians receive premium pay. However, the individual salary rates for other certified techs vary by store location and region.
The starting pay for most new Publix pharmacy technicians is $13.00 an hour. More experienced technicians can earn up to $21.00 an hour.
